Welcome to Raynee Day Books —a Black, queer-owned online bookstore built for those of us who love diving deep into rich, transformative, and unapologetically diverse stories.

This store was born out of a simple, persistent belief: finding rich Black literature and queer stories shouldn't feel like a treasure hunt. 

People should not have to sift through shelves just to uncover a few stories that reflect their lives, joy, and complexities across genres. It can be exhausting to search for meaningful representation, only to find it tucked away or treated as an afterthought. 

Driven by the vision of a space where these works are celebrated front and center, Raynee Day Books was founded. What started as a passion project is growing into a dedicated digital sanctuary. This is a easy-to-search bookstore where readers can bypass the endless search and dive straight into stories that matter. 

Our Shelves, Centered

At Raynee Day Books, Black and queer literature is at the heart and soul of our storefront. Every title has been intentionally selected to highlight a spectrum of experiences across genres. To support searching, the books are organized into three areas:

  • The Core Collection: Books focusing specifically on LGBTQ+ themes and characters written by Black authors. 
  • The Broad Collection: Books that celebrate the full depth and variety of broader works by Black creators across all genres. 
  • The BL & GL Corner: Books for fans of unique stories and those that challenge traditional gender dynamics.
